Teal is the blue-green version of the Nintendo Game Boy Color and one of the standard CGB-001 colourways. Its opaque turquoise-toned shell provides a distinctive alternative to the purple, yellow, green and red-toned models while retaining identical internal hardware. Teal Game Boy Color systems use Nintendo's 160 × 144 colour TFT screen, run from two AA batteries and support both dedicated Game Boy Color cartridges and most games released for the original Game Boy.
