Released in North America in 2005, the Game Boy Advance SP AGS-101 is the later SP revision with a substantially brighter back-lit display. Its light button switches between two brightness levels rather than turning the illumination off. The clamshell design, rechargeable battery and broad Game Boy compatibility remain, while the AGS-101 model number on the underside identifies the back-lit revision.
